Photo Highlights of My #Disney24 Adventure

In celebration of the Leap Year Disney's Disneyland in CA and Magic Kingdom in FL were open for 24 hours. It was a blast to dance into the early morning hours in front of Cinderella Castle, wander nearly empty streets of Fantasyland and Frontierland that are usually full of people and create some new memories.

Various vehicles were positioned around Town Square for photo ops.

Main Street USA at 4A. The high energy music of the Castle Dance Party could be heard. Throughout the Magic Kingdom the usual daytime music loops were changed.

Dance Party 5A. It started at 1A.

Most unusual sight. This area under the Peoplemover is usually packed with strollers.

During the last hour it was wonderful to wander the very empty areas. Attractions were closing and guests were gathering on Main Street.

Watched Magic Memories and You at 5:30a from a new spot -- Liberty Square. Loved it!!! New Favorite spot.

Cinderella Castle as we await the clock to strike 6A and the fun to end...for now.

Shortly after 6A guests making their way to the exits after the 24 hr Leap Year Celebration at the Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom Nov 2011

Today's adventure to the Magic Kingdom began in the Heroes lot. We were parked too close (section Aladdin) to warrant a parking lot tram ride, much to the dismay of my little guy. So with a promise that we'd ride the tram back to the car when it was time to go home we were off to the TTC and Monorail Gold.

Entering Main Street it was quickly evident that the Disney Parks Christmas parade taping is just around the corner. The garland that had been hanging across Main Street was gone providing a better shot down Main Street.
Brightly colored presents sit atop the Confectionary awning.

Poinsettia red banners accented with shimmering silver surround Cinderella castle stage.

Gideon's requests today include the Tomorrowland Speedway and Carousel of Progress. He laughs as the Speedway car's steering wheel jerks from left-to-right when we strike the center guidepost. And in Carousel of Progress he giggles at the line "No more kerosene. No more gas" I'm not really sure why.

Leaving Tomorrowland, we walked across the Hub to grab a Sweet & Spicy Chicken waffle for lunch. Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It Dance Party had just concluded and we noticed sparkling little Mickeys all over the street (Gideon calls them "Toodles" thanks to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). Much better than the streamers they usually release.

Waffle Sandwiches -- Nutella, ham & swiss, sweet&spicy chicken
On to my newly discovered fave food item. I am in love with the new chicken waffle sandwich offered in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. This is my third order in two weeks. Its a great balance of textures -- a bit of crispy with the waffle and a touch of creamy with the broccoli slaw, a great balance of flavors -- a touch of spicy in the sweet sauce, a touch of bitter with the greens. Its just so good. We shared the sandwich while enjoying the sights and sounds of Dream Along with Mickey!

Soon we were sailing the happiest cruise, it's a small world. Seated in front of us was a little toddler who was bobbing back and forth throughout the ride. The family behind us was identifying each nation as we passed. The penguins stumped them. I remember when I finally realized that they were South American rather than the Antarctic -- their flamenco pom pom hats should have given me a clue sooner.

Not sure I ever noticed the pick axes hold up the sign

We continued our adventure strolling through Fantasyland. A crane was lowering a large golden circle of Mr. Stork icons so we stopped to watch for a little bit. I'm guessing its for Dumbo.

The view of Cinderella Castle with its parade banners caught my eye and then we noticed the beautiful roses blooming nearby. So I knelt down and grabbed this shot.

After playing with PUSH, the talking trash can back at the Hub, it was almost time to go so I asked Gideon if he would prefer Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (an attraction he had requested) or riding the train before we left. The train won.

Mommy sneaks a kiss

On today's train  ride we spotted a gator swimming in the pond by Space Mtn. Last week we spotted one sunning on its banks from the monorail.
Heading out to the monorail, Gideon wandered over to gaze at The Muppets movie poster. Jason Segel would be proud. His film has birthed yet another Muppet fan and reminded me of how much I enjoyed the original film.

The promised parking lot tram ride concluded today's Magic Kingdom adventure.

As always we enjoyed the old favorites and discovered something new during our Day at Disney - Magic Kingdom.
